“Royal Virgin” and male

04/12/2010

Currently, prostatic fibroids, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is attracting a lot of attention from people, especially from the men over 40 who are susceptible to this disease.

Therefore, they always want to know about BPH and effective remedies to avoid surgery if unfortunately suffering from this disease.

To know whether they have the disease, men should monitor such symptoms as difficult urination, weak urine stream, frequent urination at night, still feel like urine in the bladder even as soon as finishing urinating...If so, they need go to urology ward to check disease status. If doctor concludes that you are having BPH, firstly you should take medical treatment (using drug), if ineffective, you should take surgery or others. The number of men over 40 with prostate disease is 40%. Therefore, the demand for medicines is urgent.

From the past, patients have traditionally used chemically-synthesized medicines such as Terazosin (Hytrin), Tamsulosin (Flomax), Finasterid.

These medicines have some undesirable effects such as orthostatic hypotension, affecting sexual activity, headache, dizziness...

There are also a number of products made from herbs such as Tadenan and Permixon. They can only improve urination but not reduce prostate volume. In Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram and her colleagues at home and abroad have studied and formulated Crila capsule, which was allowed for nationwide circulation with registration number V1167-H12-10. Crila extracted from bioactive alkaloids of Crinum latifolium L. may inhibit the growth of tumor cells, reduce tumor volume, improve urination, life quality, and reduce the number of times of urination at night. Crila does not affect sexual activity and safe to patients, but it has some undesirable effects such as mild indigestion. However, it only occurs in some first days, and then disappears because the body was accustomed to Crila.

According to folklore experiences, the Vietnamese have used decoction from Crinum latifolium L. leaves for the treatment of prostatic fibroids, uterine fibroids, breast tumors, etc. To evaluate its treatment efficacy in tumor, in 2001, a scientific research subject at ministerial level headed by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huong, was undergone clinical trials on the treatment for BPH patients with Crinum latifolium L. leaf decoction at Hanoi Friendship Hospital. The treatment result was good but Crinum latifolium L. leaves used in clinical research are cultivated and studied by Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram at her plantation in Long Thanh - Dong Nai. They are clean medicinal materials, grown, cared and harvested under GACP-WHO criterion and identified harvesting time to have bioactive substances for treating BPH, uterine fibroids and supporting cancer treatment. The research results of Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huong proved the ability of Crinum latifolium L. leaves to treat BPH. However, patients should not misunderstand that all other Crinum plants looking alike Crinum latifolium L. can treat the disease. This is very dangerous because those Crinum plants have not been studied and often cause toxicity to liver and kidney. Formerly, when not having Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram’s research work and Crila yet, people drank decoction from Crinum latifolium L. leaves according to folklore experiences. In this way, patients can’t use all bioactive substances in Crinum latifolium L. because hot solvent cannot obtain the bioactive substances, only organic solvents can extract them to inhibit tumor cells. Crila capsule formulated from alkaloids extracted from Crinum latifolium L. has been tested clinically in hospitals including VN National Institute of Gerontology, National Hospital of Traditional Medicine, HCMC Hospital of Traditional Medicine. Through clinical testing results at these hospitals, the Council of Science and Technology - the Ministry of Health evaluated the treatment efficacy of Crila at 89.18%. Patients should use products that have been studied and clinically tested for safe treatment, not use Crinum latifolium L. leaves arbitrarily because if misusing, they cannot be cured but poisoned. If you need to prevent BPH and other tumors, you can use Crilin and Crinum latifolium L. tea - two supplements derived from Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram’s research work. These two supplements are allowed for circulation on the market with registration number CNTC: 2405/2009/YT-CNTC and 2406/2009/YT–CNTC by Vietnam's Administration for Food Safety and Hygiene Department.
